Meet your team leader

Khristopher Hamlin, Team Leader | REALTOR®

Khris is licensed in Maryland and Washington DC and leads both Next Key Home Team at Samson Properties and Next Key Property Management. Before building the team, he spent more than 30 years leading and developing people in corporate retail leadership, and he coaches agents the same way: clear expectations, weekly numbers and real feedback.

His long-term plan is a team where agents leverage shared systems, staff and lead flow, expanding into Virginia and additional markets.

Questions agents ask

Joining a real estate team in Maryland: FAQ

Should a new real estate agent join a team or go solo?

A team usually shortens the learning curve. On a team you get leads, scripts, a transaction coordinator and someone reviewing your numbers every week. Solo agents keep a larger share of a smaller pipeline. Next Key Home Team is built for agents who want structure in year one with fair compensation that grows with them.

Do I need experience or past sales to join?

No. Newly licensed agents are welcome and previous production is not required. You do need an active Maryland or Washington DC real estate license and the willingness to follow the training and prospecting rhythm.

How does compensation work?

We offer fair compensation and commission splits designed to drive your growth. Your split, any brokerage fees and how compensation grows with your production are all reviewed during your Join Our Team discovery call.

Can I join part time?

Yes. Full-time and part-time independent contractors are both considered, and evening training sessions are scheduled with dual-career agents in mind. Part-time agents meet the same client response and service standards.

How are team leads distributed?

Round robin among eligible agents. Eligibility is based on licensing, availability, capacity, CRM compliance, training participation and service performance. New leads are acknowledged within five minutes and called within ten during coverage hours. Lead volume varies and is not guaranteed.

What areas does the team serve?

Maryland and Washington DC, with our office in Waldorf, Charles County. Agents work Southern Maryland, Prince George's County, DC and the surrounding metro. Virginia and other markets are planned for the future.

Do I keep my own clients and sphere?

Contacts you generated independently and brought to the team stay yours unless they become team-generated or team-serviced relationships under the written agreement. The details are reviewed with you before you sign.

What other costs should a new agent budget for?

Plan for license activation, REALTOR® association dues, Bright MLS access, lockbox service, marketing, continuing education and taxes as an independent contractor. We walk through a personalized first-year budget during your discovery call.
